Naim Qassem, the leader of Hezbollah, described the framework agreement signed on Friday between Lebanon, Israel, and the United States as a 'serious mistake', stating that it is 'null and irrelevant'.
In a statement, Qassem accused the Lebanese government of legitimizing the occupation of national territory, calling the agreement humiliating and shameful. He emphasized that the provisions of the memorandum of understanding between the USA and Iran, signed on June 17, which aims to end hostilities in Lebanon, should be applied.
The agreement signed in Washington aims to open a path to lasting peace and security, according to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Following this announcement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the Israeli army will remain in southern Lebanon until Hezbollah lays down its arms. Additionally, the Israeli army conducted an airstrike in southern Lebanon, targeting alleged fighters, marking the first military action of this kind since the announcement of the agreement.
