South Korea's Ministry of the Interior and Security reported that the South Chungcheong region has been hit by heavy rain, with rainfall of more than 400 mm since the start of the rains. The Korea Meteorological Administration warned that rainfall is still expected. As a result of the severe weather conditions, the Ministry of Education has decided to close 403 schools and 166 educational establishments have suffered material damage. The authorities have mobilized intervention teams to help those affected and monitor areas at risk of landslides.
