The Greek Minister of Labor, Niki Kerameus, will present a proposal to increase the minimum wage at the government meeting on March 24. Although the exact figure has not been disclosed, official Karagkounis confirmed that it will be "over 880 euros".

The government in Athens aims to reach a minimum wage of 950 euros by 2027, in the context of a significant improvement in the labor market, with an unemployment rate reduced from 18% to 7% in recent years. This decision is related to the resumption of seniority bonuses, suspended during the crisis.

To support companies, the government has reduced social security contributions by 5.9 percentage points, each reduction costing the state budget approximately 300 million euros. The average salary in Greece is currently about 1,520 euros, with most employees working full-time.
