Germany is intensifying military preparations in anticipation of a possible attack by Russia on NATO in the next two to three years, according to Lieutenant General Gerald Funke, head of the German Armed Forces Support Command. He emphasized that a large-scale conflict could become a reality in the next 24-36 months, preparing for hybrid threats, sabotage, and pinpoint attacks aimed at destabilizing European states without a declared war. Although long-range missile attacks are not excluded, Funke indicated that the immediate danger comes from hidden threats. In the context of tensions in Europe and the war in Ukraine, NATO member states are intensifying military exercises, and security experts warn that some European countries may be insufficiently prepared for a major conflict. At the same time, NATO is seeking diplomatic solutions, with peace talks led by the United States to reduce the risk of escalating the conflict.
