Germany criticized the hypocrisy of U.S. Vice President JD Vance after he accused the European Union of interfering in the elections in Hungary. Sebastian Hille, the deputy spokesperson for the German government, emphasized that Vance was in Hungary just a few days before the elections, which suggests interference from the U.S. Vance, who attended a pro-Orban campaign rally, stated that the bureaucrats in Brussels tried to control the citizens of Hungary and affect the country's economy. He also mentioned the canceled elections in Romania as an example of democratic issues in Europe. Viktor Orban, an ally of the Trump administration, benefits from his support, and the relationship between Orban and Trump has been strengthened since 2016.
