Germany has charged a Ukrainian citizen, identified as Yevhen B., in connection with a plot involving Russian intelligence services to detonate bomb packages in Europe. German prosecutors announced that the suspect was arrested in Switzerland on May 13, 2022, and was extradited to Germany in December.
In March 2025, Yevhen B. and two other suspects, Daniil B. and Vladyslav T., sent packages with GPS tracking devices from Cologne to Ukraine, at the order of intermediaries from the Russian intelligence services in Mariupol. The purpose of their actions was to investigate logistical routes to subsequently send explosive packages, causing damage in Germany or other areas. These accusations come against the backdrop of a campaign of sabotage attacks attributed to Russia, which denies any involvement.
