Almost 18% of gas stations in France are facing a shortage of one or more types of fuel, according to the Minister of Energy, Maud Bregeon.
This situation arose after the extended Easter weekend and is caused by logistical and transportation difficulties that have affected deliveries. The most affected are the stations operated by TotalEnergies, which represent approximately 83% of the gas stations with supply issues. The company has limited the price of gasoline to 1.99 euros per liter and diesel to 2.09 euros per liter, which has led to increased demand and imbalances in stocks. In contrast, only 4% of other gas stations are facing fuel shortages. Representatives of TotalEnergies did not provide an exact number of affected stations, noting that the situation is constantly changing.
