Wizz Air has announced that it is not facing structural supply issues with fuel in Europe, having secured 70% of its needs for the summer season, at a price of approximately 720 USD per ton. The company emphasized that any recent disruptions at airports have been isolated cases, without impact on its operations.

Wizz Air firmly rejects the idea that it would be exposed to fuel price volatility, having a modern fleet of Airbus A321neo aircraft, which consume 18% less fuel. The company is also running an 18-month hedging program, providing visibility on costs. Despite uncertainties in the aviation industry, Wizz Air is in a strong position to maintain operational stability and low fares. Fuel prices have risen significantly, from 750 USD at the beginning of March to 1,800-2,000 USD per ton, and geopolitical disruptions in the Middle East are a triggering factor for this situation. The European Commission has confirmed that there are no fuel shortages in the EU, but warned that a prolonged conflict could affect aviation.
