In an interview for the Handelsblatt newspaper, Stefan Schulte, the CEO of Fraport, stated that Europe has sufficient reserves of kerosene to ensure scheduled flights this summer, despite the tense situation in the Middle East.
Schulte encouraged passengers not to worry about reservations, emphasizing that fuel supply will remain stable throughout the summer and likely until the end of the year. He mentioned that, in the event of regional blockages, passengers will be able to receive refunds or alternative routes.
He also highlighted that countries like India and China are managing the situation effectively, ensuring the necessary reserves. The war in the Middle East has led to an increase in oil prices, considering that the Strait of Hormuz is a crucial point for fuel transport for aviation in Europe.
