Russia's diesel production recorded a significant decline of approximately 10% in May, following a similar drop in April, according to a Reuters analysis. This reduction was driven by Ukrainian drone attacks targeting refineries, forcing several units to either reduce their activity or completely halt production. According to estimates, the affected refineries reduced diesel production by up to 1 million tons in April and by approximately 600,000 tons in May, under conditions where production was around 7.5 million tons in March.

Although production has decreased, maritime exports of diesel and gasoil increased by 8% in April, remaining stable in May. The Russian government is considering a temporary ban on diesel exports due to high demand from farmers, but industry sources believe such a measure is unlikely. This production decline limits Russia's ability to take advantage of the high oil prices generated by conflicts in the Middle East.
