The French Minister of Transport, Philippe Tabarot, announced that due to the snowfall forecast for Wednesday morning, airlines will be forced to cancel some of the scheduled flights at the airports in Paris.
The cancellations will affect approximately 40% of flights at Charles de Gaulle airport between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM and 25% of flights at Orly airport between 6:00 AM and 1:00 PM. These measures are necessary for the snow removal operations on the runways and de-icing of the aircraft. The French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) has already requested airlines to cancel 15% of flights at the two main airports following the first snowfall. Although the flight schedule operated almost normally on Tuesday morning, the snowfall forecast for the following day will affect air traffic during peak hours.
