A major fire, accompanied by explosions, broke out on Monday at a military production and storage unit near the village of Belița, in central Bulgaria.
The incident occurred around 10:00 AM when a truck carrying fuel caught fire, causing explosions in the ammunition depots. Approximately 300 workers were evacuated, and authorities implemented precautionary measures for nearby localities.
The regional governor confirmed that there are no casualties, and the evacuation was a preventive measure.
The fires also spread to the nearby forest, and firefighters quickly intervened to combat the flames.
Authorities are also monitoring air quality to assess the impact on the population.
The unit, operated by the company EMCO, has a history of incidents, including previous explosions.
