Following explosions that occurred inside the building of the Unique Resolution Board (CRU) in Brussels, a firefighter has died, and three other workers, including one firefighter and two employees of the public company Sibelga, were injured.
The explosions were accidentally caused by the perforation of a low-pressure gas pipeline during repair work. The Belgian Minister of Security and the Interior, Bernard Quintin, expressed his "deep sorrow" for the victims of the incident and extended condolences to the family of the deceased firefighter. Following the explosions, approximately 100 people were evacuated from the building, and the public transport company in Brussels (STIB) altered the routes of trams and buses to ensure safety.
