A class action class action has been brought by 10,000 European hotels against Booking.com, accused of unfair pricing practices and anti-competitive clauses. The hoteliers are seeking compensation for damages caused by a "best-price" clause prohibiting them from offering lower rates on other platforms. The CJEU judgment of September 2024, which declared these clauses anti-competitive, has strengthened the hoteliers' position. Booking rejects the accusations, arguing that the CJEU ruling did not conclude that these clauses were anti-competitive.
