Last year, European Union member countries produced 34.7 billion liters of beer, of which 32.7 billion liters were alcoholic beers. Germany was the main producer, followed by Spain and Poland. The Netherlands led the world in exports, although exports fell. France was the largest importer of alcoholic beer, followed by Italy and Spain.
