Eight airports in Indonesia remain closed due to volcanic ash from Anak Krakatau

Eight airports in Indonesia, including two serving the capital Jakarta, were closed on Monday morning due to volcanic ash from eruptions of the Anak Krakatau volcano.

The information was confirmed by the Indonesian transport minister, quoted by Reuters. The airport closures were ordered to limit the risks posed by the dispersal of volcanic ash and to protect the operation of flights.
