On July 2, 2025, Greek firefighters face major fires in Ierapetra, Crete, and in Halkidiki, where the evacuation of about 3,000 people was necessary. Firefighting efforts are hampered by strong winds and difficult terrain, and resources mobilized include more than 150 firefighters and 40 vehicles.
