The capital of Ukraine was shaken by several explosions that occurred within just a few minutes, on the night from Saturday to Sunday, during a Russian attack.

Around 2:50 AM local time, four "very powerful" explosions were reported in central Kyiv, according to a journalist from the Kyiv Independent. In the Pecherskii district, six explosions were heard just a few minutes after the air raid alarm was triggered, leaving residents without time to seek shelter.

The city's Military Administration confirmed a fire at a commercial building in the Obolonskii district, and Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported flames in the Holosiivskii district as well.

The Ukrainian Air Force had previously warned of a threat of ballistic missile attacks, which was canceled and then reactivated.

Residents of Kyiv recorded ballistic missile attacks, with none being intercepted. These bombings are the most intense since the beginning of 2022.

On Tuesday, Russian forces attacked Zaporojie and Kyiv, causing the death of seven workers and injuring another 24 in Zaporojie, while a civilian was injured in Kyiv. Previous ballistic missile attacks have resulted in loss of life, including that of a three-year-old child.
