Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated at the Munich Security Conference that Donald Trump's interest in Greenland has not diminished. Asked whether the U.S. appetite for territory has disappeared, Frederiksen responded that, unfortunately, it remains the same, emphasizing that Trump is "very serious" about control over Greenland. She also mentioned that she is open to discussions regarding security measures in the Arctic, but stressed that sovereignty over a territory cannot be put up for sale. Frederiksen reaffirmed the principle of respecting sovereign states, adding that the Greenlandic people have been clear in their desire not to become part of the U.S.
