While the US president continues to renew threats to claim Greenland, the Greenlandic government has issued a firm warning regarding the landing of equipment necessary for oil drilling on the east coast.
Although Greenland Energy, a Texas company, plans to invest 60 million dollars in exploring the resources of the region of Jameson Land, the local government emphasizes that no approval has been granted for this activity. The company has hired well-known personnel, including Dr. Phil, to promote the project, but is facing difficulties in obtaining the necessary permits.
Greenland's leaders must decide whether to allow drilling, considering that the area is protected by international agreements. Although the government has stated that it would not be proportional to request the removal of the equipment, a permit application is in the processing stage, and drilling could begin in October, despite the controversies.
