The Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, had a clear message for Donald Trump after the American president expressed his frustration that NATO did not allow the U.S. to take over the autonomous Danish territory of Greenland.

The Danish Prime Minister emphasized that Greenland "is not for sale" and stated that Denmark is ready to defend this territory.

"We are ready to defend every inch of NATO territory, including our own territory," said Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Wednesday.

American President Donald Trump revived the controversies surrounding Greenland, expressing the desire for the U.S. to take control of this autonomous Danish territory, considered strategic for American security.

On Tuesday, at the beginning of the annual NATO summit in Turkey, Trump stated that "Greenland... should be controlled by the United States, not by Denmark."

"I am not satisfied with NATO because of what they have done regarding Greenland," he added on Wednesday.
