The Czech government has survived a no-confidence motion over a $45 million bitcoin donation from an ex-convict.

The Czech center-right government led by Petr Fiala has faced a no-confidence motion after accepting a $45 million bitcoin donation from a former cyber-crime convict. Although the opposition accused the government of complicity, the motion was defeated thanks to the ruling coalition's majority. Justice Minister Pavel Blazek resigned, admitting that accepting the donation was a mistake but denying any illegality. The ex-convict donated the confiscated bitcoins, but his motivation remains unclear.
