Ursula von der Leyen has been criticized by cross-party MEPs over the trade deal with Donald Trump, which excludes pharmaceuticals from tariffs but allows a 15% cap. Many voices in the European People's Party (EPP) and other political groups believe the deal favors the US and weakens the European Union's position. Additional critics are calling for transparency and publication of the details of the deal, pointing out that while economically it is an improvement, it is a political defeat for the EU.
