Chinese car manufacturers, such as BYD, Jaecoo, and MG, have recorded record sales in Europe, surpassing the brands Renault and Audi. In August, they had a market share of 5.5%, with 43,500 units sold, an increase of 121% compared to last year. Sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles have increased significantly, and Chinese models have become increasingly popular due to competitive prices. The Tesla Model Y remains the leader in the electric vehicle segment, but sales have decreased by 37%. BYD plans to produce electric vehicles locally in Europe by 2028.
