Tesla sales recorded a sharp decline in October in several European countries, including Spain, the Netherlands, and the Nordic states, according to Reuters. After a temporary increase in September, sales returned to a downward trend, affected by the increasingly strong competition from new electric models from traditional manufacturers and Chinese rivals. New car registrations plummeted by 89% in Sweden, 86% in Denmark, 50% in Norway, and 48% in the Netherlands. In Spain, Tesla sales dropped by 31% compared to last year, while the overall electric vehicle market grew by 119%. Although in France Tesla reported a slight increase, at the European level, sales fell by 28.5% in the first nine months of 2025 compared to 2024. The company is also facing negative reactions from European consumers due to Elon Musk's association with populist parties. In Denmark, Tesla was surpassed by Chinese brands, and in Spain, it sold only 393 vehicles in October, far below its competitors.
