The annulment of the referendum follows complaints to the Constitutional Court questioning the legality of the project. However, the government intends to go ahead with the project and is preparing a special law for the construction of the plant. The project has sparked criticism in both Slovenia and Austria, the latter calling for a seismic risk assessment of the site.
