The audio recordings made in 2017, published by the Republicans in Congress, catch Joe Biden admitting that he kept classified documents after his term as vice president ended.

These recordings were analyzed as part of the investigation by special prosecutor Robert Hur, who concluded that Biden mishandled the documents but did not recommend charging him. The recordings contain discussions between Biden and the author who helped him draft his memoir, in which he mentions finding classified documents.

Biden's spokesperson, TJ Ducklo, criticized the publication of the recordings, accusing the Trump administration of using the Department of Justice for political purposes. The recordings contain redacted passages, and Republicans claim that they conceal the disclosure of sensitive information. Although Biden was not charged, the investigation has generated controversy and discussions about the handling of classified documents by high-ranking officials.
