After the tragedy in which a 2-year-old girl died following a dental procedure, the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, proposed significant changes in dental medicine. He stated that he wants surgical dental interventions, especially those with general anesthesia, to be performed in public hospitals, where there is adequate ICU infrastructure to manage potential complications. Rogobete emphasized that the clinic where the incident occurred did not have a functioning authorization for that location and that the necessary equipment was lacking.
The minister mentioned that a report from the Ministry of Health will contribute to the prosecutors' investigation, which is looking into the circumstances of the girl's death. He also announced an extensive inspection of private practices and clinics, resulting in the withdrawal of operating licenses for over 20 units and penalties for another 30. These measures are intended to prevent such tragedies and ensure patient safety.
