The verification will analyze whether ESN respects the fundamental values of the European Union, such as democracy, the rule of law, and respect for human rights. These values are a condition for registration as a European political party and for access to European funding.

If a party no longer meets the criteria, the procedure can lead to the loss of European party status and the blocking of funding.
