On the first day of the week, the weather will be extremely cold in Romania, with maximum temperatures between -10 and 0 degrees and minimums frequently between -19 and -9 degrees. In the southwest, on the coast and in the Danube Delta, the minimums will be slightly higher, between -7 and -5 degrees. The sky will be variable in the south and southeast, but in the rest of the country, there will be showers, and light snow will appear especially in the mountainous areas and in the north. In Maramureș and the northern Eastern Carpathians, a layer of snow of 3-7 cm will accumulate, and the wind will be weak to moderate, with intensifications in the mountains.

For the period from January 12 to 19, lower than normal seasonal temperatures are expected, with precipitation within normal limits. Between January 19 and 26, temperatures will rise slightly, exceeding normal values in mountainous and western areas. At the beginning of February, temperatures will be close to normal, and precipitation will be deficient in mountainous areas, but normal elsewhere. In the period from February 2 to 9, normal thermal values and corresponding precipitation are anticipated.
