A weak earthquake, with a magnitude of 3, occurred on Saturday morning, at 5:37 local time, in the seismic area of Vrancea, Buzău County, according to the National Institute for Earth Physics Research and Development (INCDFP). The earthquake took place at a depth of 138.7 kilometers and was located 60 km south of Buzău, 67 km south of Focșani, 54 km southeast of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 57 km east of Brașov, and 72 km northeast of Ploiești. Also on Friday evening, two other earthquakes occurred in Romania, just a few minutes apart. Since the beginning of June, four earthquakes have been recorded with magnitudes ranging from 2.2 to 3.3 on the Richter scale. The strongest earthquake this year had a magnitude of 4.5 and occurred in Vrancea County on February 26.
