This year's climatic phenomenon El Nino could become the most intense ever recorded, threatening to generate extreme weather conditions globally. According to experts, this phenomenon, amplified by global warming, could lead to record temperatures in 2027, with an estimated average increase of 0.3 degrees Celsius worldwide.
El Nino is a natural variation of the climate that causes an increase in temperatures in the equatorial Pacific Ocean, affecting the global climate. Its effects are already visible, such as the drought in Indonesia, which has led to devastating fires. Temperatures in the reference area of the phenomenon are 2.6 degrees Celsius above the average of the last three decades, and estimates suggest a peak of 3.9 degrees Celsius in November. NOAA has adopted a new monitoring method, estimating a 69% probability that this El Nino will be the strongest since 1950.
