Former Prime Minister Victor Ponta has announced that he has withdrawn from the race for the Cotroceni and criticized candidates Nicușor Dan and George Simion. Ponta said that many voters are asking him for advice for the second round, but he does not know how to answer them. Although he considers himself closer to Simion's ideas, he criticized Simion for attacking his voters. Ponta highlighted Romania's economic problems and warned against fiscal measures that could worsen the economic situation.
