<p>After the exit-polls showing him in first place, George Simion gave an optimistic message, saying that Romanians stood up and that the vote was an act of courage and solidarity. He criticized the media for spreading lies and pledged commitment to Călin Georgescu. Simion emphasized that he did not want power for himself and that he would not get involved in the infighting of other parties. According to exit polls, Simion got between 30% and 36% of the votes, leading ahead of Crin Antonescu and Nicușor Dan.
