However, he launched accusations of electoral fraud against his counter-candidate, Nicușor Dan, without concrete evidence. Emil Boc, the mayor of Cluj, labeled these statements as populist and irresponsible, suggesting that Simion is preparing a scenario to contest the results in case of defeat. This is the third debate in which Simion has not taken part, and his future in direct confrontations remains uncertain.
