Cătălin Drulă, the USR candidate for the Capital City Hall, reacted to the statements of Sorin Grindeanu, the PSD leader, who called him "the true enemy of Bucharest residents". Drulă stated that, in fact, he is the enemy of the "mafias" that manipulate electoral campaigns and of the real estate speculators who build without respect for the city.
He criticized the PSD's ties to the past of corruption, mentioning names like Liviu Dragnea and Adrian Năstase, and emphasized that Bucharest has been affected by old policies that favored clans. Drulă promised that he would not tolerate corruption and that he would fight for a better city, in contrast to Grindeanu's accusations, which suggested that USR is responsible for the chaos in local administration.
