The Universities of Babeș-Bolyai and of Bucharest are ranked 761-770 in the QS 2026 rankings, with eight other Romanian institutions included.

In the QS World University Rankings 2026, the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca and the University of Bucharest are tied at 761-770. Eight other Romanian universities are included in the rankings, without losing ground from the previous year. Al. I. Cuza in Iasi moved up in the 1001-1200 range, marking the first increase in the last decade, according to analysis by vendor Quacquarelli Symonds.
