The Baccalaureate exam 2026 starts today with the test in Romanian Language and Literature / The Ministry of Education imposes special measures to combat the heatwave.

Today marks the first written test of the national Bacalaureat exam 2026, the one for Romanian Language and Literature. Over 130,000 candidates from the current promotion and from previous years are expected to take the exam in this session.

The test for Romanian Language and Literature opens the summer session of the BAC, and in the following days, the mandatory profile test, the elective profile and specialization test, as well as the written test for the mother tongue for students from national minorities will follow.

The tests start at 9:00 AM, and candidates have three hours to complete the subjects. It is essential for them to have a valid identity document and permitted writing instruments with them, while access with prohibited materials is strictly forbidden. The complete schedule of written tests includes dates for each subject, and the work is monitored audio-video throughout the exam duration.

Considering the meteorological warnings of heatwave in the coming days, the Ministry of Education has imposed some measures to combat it, such as ensuring permanent access to drinking water and ensuring the functioning of existing air conditioning systems.

The results of the Bacalaureat exam 2026 will be announced on July 7.
