The National Bank of Romania announced a slight decrease in the three-month ROBOR index, reaching 5.79%. The governor of BNR, Mugur Isărescu, stated that in the last six months, the index has lost two percentage points, but it is not expected to drop below 5.5% in the near future. Isărescu emphasized that market interest rates have decreased, but they will not fall below the National Bank's deposit rate. Additionally, BNR decided to maintain the key interest rate at 6.50%, with possible adjustments in the summer, when a reduction in inflation is anticipated.
