Recently, the sanctions imposed by Donald Trump on the giants Lukoil and Rosneft have had a direct impact on fuel prices in Romania. On October 28, Petrom, the market leader, raised prices again, by 4 bani per liter for both gasoline and diesel. In the Capital, prices range between 7.39 lei and 7.45 lei for a liter of standard gasoline and between 7.59 lei and 7.64 lei for diesel.

Lukoil announced its intention to sell its international assets, including the refinery in Ploiești, which could lead to a decrease in supply in the Romanian market, considering that Lukoil holds a share of approximately 16%. This situation could lead to a new increase in pump prices, under conditions of steady demand.
