Adrian Negrescu warns: "Shock at the shelf" for Romanians due to the rising prices of fuels and food.

The economic consultant Adrian Negrescu warns that Romanians will feel a "shock at the shelf" starting this month, against the backdrop of the accelerated rise in oil prices and increasing transportation costs. According to him, the increase in fuel prices, which decisively influences costs in agriculture, food processing, and distribution, will generate a "cost inflation," maintaining high prices even in the context of declining consumption.

Basic foods, such as milk, meat, eggs, flour, and vegetables, are expected to register the most visible price increases, while a potential political crisis could amplify economic pressures through the depreciation of the national currency and new price increases.
