The Ministry of Finance of Romania is preparing the Buget_NG application, which will allow ministries to digitally input data related to the budget for the year 2026. The project, initiated in 2021, was motivated by the need to accelerate the budget preparation process, which previously took up to three months. By digitizing this process, the aim is not only to increase the speed of work but also to improve transparency, eliminating the use of paper between ministries. Buget_NG will be tested at the end of this year, and discussions for the 2026 budget will begin after November 15, with a projected deficit of 6%. The project benefits from an allocation of 4 million euros through the PNRR for improving budget programming. The current application, used since 2011, was developed with the support of ORACLE experts.
