Within the Investalim program, the Minister of Agriculture, Florin Barbu, announced the approval of over 110 projects, including meat, milk, and traditional product factories. The amount allocated for the National Irrigation Program exceeds one billion euros, with 51 facilities in operation and 1.6 million irrigable hectares. Additionally, 234 water user organizations received 400 million euros for irrigation infrastructure, and the irrigable area will increase by 670,000 hectares. Farmers benefit from financial support for 50% of the electricity costs used for irrigation, and state aid for agricultural diesel has exceeded 530 million lei. Barbu emphasized the implementation of an energy scheme for farms, funded by the Modernization Fund, which supports the energy transition. Support of 1.5 billion lei has been granted to livestock breeders, and Romania has obtained exemptions from the European Commission for GAEC regulations. Additionally, licenses for imports from Ukraine have been established, and farmers have received compensation for drought. The INVESTALIM program, carried out over four years, aims to reduce the trade balance deficit and encourage local production, with a possible doubling of the initial amount of 600 million euros.
