According to the analysis of the Romanian Economic Monitor, the cuts in education through the Bolojan Law will bring marginal savings to Romania's budget, estimating a reduction of 378 million lei, equivalent to 0.02% of GDP in 2025. The measures, including the increase in teaching norms, have a significant impact on schools, but do not substantially contribute to adjusting the budget deficit. In the context of the criticisms from the Minister of Education, Daniel David, who contests the evaluations of the Fiscal Council, the analysis highlights the need for structural reforms for an effective correction of the fiscal system.
