The United Sections of the High Court of Cassation and Justice, led by President Lia Savonea, decided to challenge the law on the reform of service pensions at the Constitutional Court, which reduces special pensions and raises the retirement age from 48 to 65 years. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan emphasized that the government cannot function if the reform is declared unconstitutional. Meanwhile, judges in the country have begun protests against this reform, demanding the withdrawal of the legislative project and the defense of judicial independence.
