On October 16, 2025, the judges of the High Court of Cassation will meet to discuss the possibility of referring to the Constitutional Court regarding the draft law on private pension payments, which was adopted by the Chamber of Deputies on October 13. The draft, initiated by the Bolojan Government, provides for significant changes regarding the withdrawal of funds from private pensions.

According to the new regulations, retirees will be able to withdraw only 30% of the accumulated pension amount as an advance, while the rest will be staggered over a period of at least 8 years. There are exceptions for cancer patients and those with funds less than 12 times the minimum pension value, who will be able to withdraw the entire amount in a single installment. The decision of the High Court will influence the implementation of this law before its promulgation.
