The European Union convened an emergency meeting on Sunday after American President Donald Trump threatened to impose tariffs of up to 25% on products from eight European countries, conditioning their removal on the sale of Greenland. Cyprus, which holds the rotating presidency of the EU, announced that the meeting will start at 16:00 GMT. Trump specified that starting from February 1, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Finland will be subject to a 10% surcharge on goods exported to the United States. This situation has raised concerns among European diplomats, who are gathering to discuss the implications of these threats.
