The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, stated that the 10% CASS tax imposed by the Bolojan Government on pensions exceeding 3,000 lei has generated almost 9 billion lei for the budget of the National Health Insurance House. The budget of this institution has increased from 45 billion to 80 billion lei in the last 4-5 years.
Although the budget has increased significantly, Rogobete emphasized that the improvement in the quality of services is not uniform across all healthcare units. Currently, Romania benefits from a historic budget for health, with 23 ongoing construction sites for new hospitals. The Minister mentioned that over the last 4 years, more than 100 new molecules have been added to the list of medications, highlighting the transformations in the healthcare system.
