Siegfried Mureșan, final message before Wednesday’s vote: tomorrow we will see whether we manage to overcome the political crisis

Prime Minister-designate Siegfried Mureșan told Romanians on Tuesday evening, ahead of the investiture vote scheduled for Wednesday in Parliament, that each lawmaker will decide through their vote whether Romania enters a period of stability or whether the political crisis is prolonged.

In a video message posted on Facebook, Mureșan thanked people for the support he had received over the past two weeks and outlined the main steps taken after being nominated by the President of Romania. He said he had worked on the governing program and proposed a team of competent and honest ministers.

The prime minister-designate said the proposed ministers had performed well at their hearings in Parliament and argued that they would be able to implement the governing program.

Mureșan said that, if the Government is approved, he will cooperate with lawmakers from all groups, including those in the opposition. He said he would assess and support ideas that are sound, realistic and useful for Romania.

The plenary session of the two chambers meeting jointly, at which the Government’s investiture will be put to a vote, is scheduled for Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. The prime minister-designate said the vote’s outcome would show whether Romania can overcome the political crisis and begin implementing its governmental priorities.
