Dragos Pislaru, the Minister of Investments and European Funds, stated that Romania has not lost any money from the PNRR grants so far, but there is a risk of losing in the payment request 3, due to the failure to meet the measures by previous governments.

Pislaru explained that the grants are non-reimbursable, and losses would only occur if the established deadlines are not respected. He emphasized that the affected areas, such as transport and energy, did not have the necessary appointments made on time. The minister mentioned that he had five briefings in the Government regarding these issues and called for responsibility from those who coordinated these areas. He also presented a plan to avoid losses on grants, which involves replacing at-risk investments with already completed projects on the loan component.

Pislaru assured that if he is allowed to fulfill his duties, Romania will be able to access all available money from grants.
